What is Lux DeepIR Fractional Skin Tightening?

Lux DeepIR fractional skin tightening is a non-ablative method to treat lax or sagging skin in the face, neck (ideal for sagging jowl and excess skin under the chin), abdomen, arms and legs. This method administers deep-heating infrared light into the dermis (skin) to promote new tissue generation. As the deep heat is delivered into the skin, soft tissue coagulation occurs and induces the body's natural healing response, thus resulting in the generation of new tissue. With the generation of new tissue comes an increase in skin elasticity, along with tighter, smoother, more youthful looking skin.

How does the Lux DeepIR laser work?

The Lux DeepIR handpiece uses a patented fractional deep heating approach that allows for significantly higher fluences and tissue heating, also referred to as contact sensor technology. This technology allows the laser to safely deliver deep heat into the dermis while at the same time delivering a cooling effect to increase patient comfort during the treatment.

What can I expect in a Lux DeepIR treatment?

Aside from tighter skin and improved texture you can expect the following from your treatment!

The Lux DeepIR fractional handpiece will be gently guided across the area being treated, as it is going over the skin it will be delivering precise microbeams of infrared energy directly into the skin. Due to the patented cooling technology, you should experience minimal discomfort  and the treatment should only last between 15-30 minutes, depending upon the area being treated.

Afterwards, you may experience redness, warmth, swelling or tightness in the treated area - all of these will gradually fade within 2-4 hours after the treatment. Due to the light pulsed being confined to narrow columns in the skin there is a quick healing process and you will notice positive results in skin tone, elasticity and texture within a few days.  In most cases, patients recover with no downtime and can resume their normal daily activities after the treatment.
